Greeting:

Good morning guys! I am glad to see you. How are you? OK. Take your seats comfortably. Let's begin our lesson.

Introducing the theme:

Look at the board and say what about will we speak today? Yes, you are quite right.

With what holidays these pictures and things are associated ? ( there is a pumpkin, Santa Claus, a ghost and some colored eggs on the table)

Brainstorming.

Discussing the proverb.

You know the English proverb "So many countries so many customs" and I want to add "So many countries so many customs and holidays".

How do you think, children, should we know the holidays of other countries and why?

OK, you are right.

Nurai has prepared questions about the holidays. Please, listen to her and answer the questions

Ainur has prepared some sentences about British holidays. Listen to her and guess what holiday it is.

Group work.

I want you to divide into three groups.

Do some exercises in group. I want you to help each other and be active.

Watching the video.

Do you want to see a film "How people celebrate Christmas holiday"? All, right. Let's see.

Making the project work.

Now I want you to draw a poster "Christmas" and then two pupils from each group tell us about Christmas holiday. Work together in group.

Six Thinking Hats.

I want you to express your opinion from the six position.

The White Hat calls for information known or needed. "The facts, just the facts."

The Yellow Hat symbolizes brightness and optimism.

The Red Hat signifies feelings, hunches and intuition. When using this hat you can express emotions and feelings and share fears, likes, dislikes, loves, and hates.

The Green Hat focuses on creativity; the possibilities, alternatives, and new ideas.

The Blue Hat is used to manage the thinking process. It's the control mechanism that ensures the Six Thinking Hats guidelines are observed. Cambridge Audio CD

Let's work with our notebooks.

Relaxation. Sing a song "I love you"

Let's do cinquain.

Each group will do the cinquain about the holiday. What cinquain do you like most of all?

Test. Active o.t.e

Let's check your answers. Look at the blackboard. Those who has no mistakes show me green cards. Those who has mistakes show me red cards.

- Now we know everything about the most famous British holidays. So it's high time for us to draw the line of our lesson and to say what you've done at this lesson and what you've learned to do.

How can you assess your work? If you think everything was perfect show me green cards. If you suppose that you've worked not very well - yellow cards, and if you've worked bad, on your point of view - red.

Homework.

Write down about your favorite family holiday.

Evaluation

Ok. You've been working hard.

Your marks for the lesson are excellent.

The lesson is over.

Thanks for your work.

Good morning! We are fine, thank you.

About holidays.

S: Each country has its own customs and holidays. To my mind, we must know the culture , the holidays of other countries and of course respect them because we live on one and the same planet.

Nurai: What kind of holidays do you know?

S: Public, national, religious, professional and family.

Nurai: Why do English name public holidays as bank one?

S:Public holidays in G.B. are called bank holidays because the banks, offices and shops are closed.

Nurai: What is your favourite family holiday and how do you celebrate it?

S: Our favourite family holiday is New Year. We clean our house and cook different salads and tasty dishes. My mother prepares the main national dish beshbarmak. Our relatives and friends visit us . We have a nice party.
