Тема: Excursion around London.

Цели: - закрепить употребление лексики по теме «London»

- развивать навыки говорения

- развивать навыки аудирования, чтения, письма

- развивать внимание, зрительную и слуховую память, навыки антиципации

- расширять социо-культурный компонент учащихся

- воспитывать уважение к стране изучаемого языка

- воспитывать умение работать в коллективе, группе, паре

Оборудование: учебник, иллюстрации с видами Лондона, раздаточный материал (карточки с кроссвордом, карточки для чтения и аудирования), стикеры.


Ход урока.

I.Организационный момент.

1. Приветствие.

T.: Good morning, children!

Ps: Good morning, good morning, good morning to you, good morning, good morning, we are glad to see you!

2. Разговор с дежурным.

T.: Who is on duty today?

P.: I am.

T.: Who is absent?

P.: Vova and Sasha are.

T.: Thank you. What day is it today?

P.: Today isWednesday, the eighteenth ofMarch.

3. Речевая и фонетическая разминка:

  • Повторение лексики хором за учителем

  • Повторение лексики с использованием карточек

T.: I'll show you the cards with the words and one of you will read the word and another one will translate it.


II.Основная часть.


1. Объявление темы урока.

T.: Now tell me, do you like traveling?

T.: Where would you like to travel?

P1: I would like to travel to France.

T.: You all would like to travel to London, am I right? So today we'll have an unusual lesson. Today we'll have an excursion to London and we'll visit some landmarks of this city.

T.: So as we've found out, our excursion begins with Westminster Abbey. Let's read and translate the text about it. Take the cards!

HO 2.

Westminster Abbey.

Westminster Abbey is one of the oldest buildings in London and one of the most important religious centres. Many kings and queens and famous people are buried there. Its founder, Edward the Confessor, built it near the old church. Every royal coronation is held in this Abbey. There are over 1 thousand monuments in Westminster Abbey.

T.: And now let's go to the next landmark of London. It is the Tower of London. Team up into the groups of four. In your cards you have the text in Russian. You are to put the sentences in English into the right order.


HO 3.

1. Лондонский Тауэр - это самая старая достопримечательность Лондона.

2. Он состоит из группы сооружений.

3. Он построен вокруг центральной Белой башни в 11 веке.

4. Лондонский Тауэр служил крепостью, дворцом, зоопарком, королевским монетным двором и тюрьмой.

5. Сейчас это национальный памятник и музей.


The Tower of London is London's oldest landmark.


It consists of a group of structures.


It's built around the central White Tower in the 11th century.


The Tower of London served as a fortress, a palace, a zoo, a royal mint and a prison.


Today it is a national monument and museum.


7. Развитие навыков аудирования.

T.: And now let's go to the National Portrait Gallery. Listen to the text.

Text.

The National Gallery has one of the finest collections of masterpieces in the world. The collection has more than 2 thousand pictures. The National Portrait Gallery includes pictures of historical personalities, sculpture and photographs. It was established in 1856 to illustrate British history. The Gallery does not display portraits of living persons, apart from members of royal family.


T.: Now in your copybooks put numbers from 1 to 7. I'll read the sentences and you'll decide whether they are true or false. Put + if the sentence is true and - if it is false.

9. Развитие навыков чтения, логического мышления, антиципации.

T.: And the last place we are going to visit is the Natural History Museum. You will work in pairs. At first, match the words with their translations. Then we'll read and translate the text.

The Natural History Museum has 5 departments covering botany, entomology, mineralogy, paleontology and zoology. The central hall houses an exhibition of dinosaurs. On the first floor there is the Mammal gallery, where many rare species can be seen. Also here is the Mineral Gallery. The museum is famous for it's reconstructions of huge prehistoric animals. There is a full-scale model of the blue whale, 27 metres long.
