Урок-обобщение по теме "VOLUNTEERS AND CHARITIES" 7кл.

Цели:

1. Социокультурный аспект - знакомство с работай благотворительных организаций в Великобритании и в России.

2. Развивающий аспект - закрепление способности учащихся к осуществлению продуктивных речевых действий, к логическому изложению.

3. Учебный аспек - проверка уровня сформирования навыков и развития умений по различным видам речевой деятельности.

Воспитательный аспект - формирование у учащихся чувства сострадания,готовности помочь нуждающимся.

План урока:

Просмотр слайдов о деятельности благотворительных организаций, о работе подростков - добровольцев из разных стран, обсуждение увиденного.

Повторение и закрепление пройденного грамматического и лексического материала.

Работа с текстом.

Аудирование.

Проектная работа.

Игра "Брейн-ринг".

Речевой материал:лексика и грамматика предыдущих уроков.

Ход урока

1.Приветствие, вступительное слово учителя:

Good morning, dear friends!

Today we are going to talk about charities and volunteers, about voluntary work, about needy people and their life. You know that there are more than 157,000 charities in Britain. And there are charity organisations for every area of life.

But first of all, I want you to explain me the meaning of the words: a charity, a volunteer, voluntary work, charity. ( Учащиеся объясняют значения перечисленных слов на английском языке).

TEACHER: And now I am going to show you a few pictures. Look at the screen very attentively and get ready to answer my questions. (Учащиеся просматривают файлы, рассказывающие о работе благотворительных организаций разных стран, о работе подростков-волонтеров). После просмотра учащиеся отвечают на вопросы учителя:

TEACHER: And now answer my questions, please.

What are these organizations?

Who or what do these charities help?

How does each organization help?

Why do people work for charity?

Do you think that the charity organizations are important? Why?

TEACHER: Very well, thank you for your answers. You are absolutely right! This work is very important and every person must give a helping hand to those who need it. And now the second part of our work. Let's repeat the grammar structure "To be going to". How does it change? (повторяется спряжение глагола to be).

What about questions and negative sentences? Work in chain, please( учащиеся составляют предложения , работая "по цепочке", например: He is going to make donations.- Is he going to make donations?- He isn't going to make donations).

TEACHER: Well done. And here are grammar exercises for you. You have only 3 minutes to do them. (Учащиеся получают упражнения, составленные учителем с учетом пройденных грамматических структур и лексических единиц. Упражнения можно выполнить письменно, с последующей проверкой, или устно, вовлекая в работу всех учеников).

TEACHER: And now, my dear, look at the blackboard (Hа доске написаны предложения, например:

My friend is going to plant trees in spring.

Our parents are going to make donations for the charities.)

Please, read these sentences and ask questions to them. (Учащиеся читают предложения и задают к ним все возможные вопросы. Это задание можно рекомендовать в тех классах, где уже пройдена и отработана тема "Типы вопросов").

2. TEACHER: Very well. The next task for you is to prepare the dialogues. The first phrase in your conversations must be the sentence "I am going to be a volunteer". Ask each other questions to get more information. ( Учащиеся подготавливают диалоги, начинающиеся с определенной фразы, и разыгрывают их).

Примерный диалог:

- Hello, Nick!

- Hi, Mark! I am going to be a volunteer!

- Really? And what are you going to do?

- I am going to help needy people.

- How are you going to help them?

- My friends and I are going to raise money and clothes for them.

- And when are you going to work?

- After classes. And what about you?

… .

3. TEACHER: Well, that's enough. Thank you for your answers. The next task for you is reading. Here are the texts. Please, read them and get ready to say if my statements are true or false. (Учитель раздает учащимся тексты для индивидуального прочтения. На своем уроке я использовала текст из учебника В. П. Кузовлева: Unit 3, Lesson 4 "What Makes You Help Other People?" После прочтения текста учащимися, учитель зачитывает утверждения, например:

Hilary Ready thinks that helping people is really good;

She usually raises money for homeless people;

She knows that even a small contribution can make a difference;

Her work doesn't make her feel responsible… etc.

Учащиеся реагируют на высказывания фразами: "It's true" or "It's false".)

4. TEACHER: Very well. And now - listening. Open your books, please. Exercise 9, Page 99. Listen and complete the Function File. (Учащиеся работают с учебником "Opportunities", вставляя пропущенные в диалоге слова. По окончании прослушивания учащиеся читают диалог по ролям и проверяют правильность заполнения пропусков.)

5. TEACHER: Well done, my pupils. So, you've shown us that you know a lot of words, expressions and proverbs about work, about volunteers, about voluntary work. You've got a lot of information about charities and about people who try make the world a better place. Now it's time for you to create your own charity. You must think of the name for your charity, your motto and your aims. It's a project work and I want you to work together. (Учащимся предоставляется 7-10 минут на подготовку. Если группа большая, то целесообразнее разделить ее на 2-3 подгруппы. После подготовки ученики предоставляют свой вариант благотворительной организации).

PUPILS: Here is our project:

Wwe promise:

To help elderly people.

To make donations.

To look after the children.

To protect nature.

To take care of animals.

6. TEACHER: Thank you very much for your answers. They were splendid. But our lesson hasn't finished yet and I want to suggest you a game. I want you to divide into two teams. Each team will get the similar tasks and when you are ready you must rise up your hands. (Учащиеся делятся на 2 команды и выполняют полученные задания. Мои ученики выполняли следующие задания:

1). Match the words with their definitions:

a charity- 1) money, that somebody gives to help a person or organization;

a volunteer- 2) people who have no place to live;

an orphan- 3) people who have very little food or money;

disabled people- 4) the feeling you have when you understand why someone is sad and want to help him/her feel better;

needy people- 5) a child whose parents are dead;

lonely people- 6) people who can not use a part of their body;

homeless people- 7) an organization that helps poor people;

donation- 8) a person who helps without any money;

sympathy- 9) unhappy people because they are alone.

2). Wordsearch. Try to find 12 words.
