London is the capital of Great Britain, its political, economic and cultural centre. It's one of the largest cities in the world. London is situated on the river Thames. The city is very old and beautiful. Traditionally London is divided into several parts: the City, the West End, the East End and Westminster. The Houses of Parliament, big clock Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, the seat of the British Government, are in Westminster. Picadilly Circus is the heart of London's West End. In the West End there are wide streets with beautiful houses and many parks, gardens and squares. London has many places of interest. One of them is Buckingham Palace. It's the residence of the Queen.

Oxford is one of oldest and most famous cities in the world. It is famous for it's university, the Oxford University. It also called a city of students, because over 12000 students live and study here in thirty-five colleges. There are lots of clubs and other interesting places for students and dons to visit. For example the Sheldonian Theater. There is a bookshop opposite the theater. It is one of the world's biggest bookshops, with seven kilometers of shelves. There are also lots of pubs and cafes in the city. There are two rivers in Oxford. People usually travel along the rivers by boats called "punts". Oxford is also famous for it's gardens, which have mazes.

The city of Cambridge is the home of the University of Cambridge, which is one of the most popular and prestigious universities in the world. The University includes the renowned Cavendish Laboratory, King's College Chapel and the Cambridge University Library. Cambridge University Press. There are also many historic buildings and green areas such as Parker's Piece and Midsummer Common. Cambridge is the city of its own cultural traditions. Its main theatre is the Arts Theatre, a venue with 666 seats, which is in the centre of the city. It's also worth mentioning that Cambridge played a unique role in the invention of modern football.

Liverpool is a city of England but sometimes people call it the capital of Ireland and the capital of Wales because there are many people of Irish and Welsh descent in the city. People are friendly, wit and humorous. Liverpool is also known for its football teams, its football Club is one of the most successful European Teams of the late 70s and early 90s. For many times it was the Champion of Britain. There are many parks, museums and cathedrals.
