Настоящее учебное пособие "Поездка за границу. Travelling abroad» ЧАСТЬ 2 предназначено для студентов 1- 3 курсов всех специальностей и профессий при изучении темы «Путешествие».

Цель настоящего учебного пособия - помочь студентам сформировать навыки чтения и перевода адаптированных текстов без словаря, развить навыки устной речи при подготовке пересказов, составлении диалогов и других видов работы на уроке и освоить лексический минимум по данной теме.

ВВЕДЕНИЕ

Учебное пособие "Поездка за границу. Travelling abroad» ЧАСТЬ 2 предназначено для студентов 1-3 курсов всех специальностей и профессий при изучении темы «Путешествие», но также будет полезным для широкого круга лиц при изучении данной темы. Преподаватели английского языка могут использовать данное пособие при подготовке уроков с использованием различных образовательных технологий и внеклассных мероприятий по данной теме.

Отбор лексического минимума в представленных тематических ситуациях логически систематизирован и выделен в основные 6 текстов. К каждому тексту предлагается тематический словарь для заучивания новой лексики и упражнения для закрепления и рефлексии. Далее прилагается дополнительный список речевых оборотов, лексических единиц и словосочетаний, которые будут весьма кстати при практическом применении английского языка в условиях контакта с носителями языка и\или решением проблем, связанных с языком, во время поездки за границу.

Данное пособие - это фундамент, на котором каждый изучающий английский язык и обучающий языку может построить собственную надстройку, состоящую из диалогов по данной теме, презентаций к каждому тексту, дополнение в виде различных творческих заданий и тестов.

Логико-ассоциативное представление тем позволит развивать мыслительные способности студентов, вызывая потребность творчески думать, тем самым обеспечивая мотивированное отношение к предмету и желание изучать язык.

TEXT A. Travelling in our life.

modern life is impossible without travelling. Thousands of people travel every day either on business or for their pleasure.

Before planning their travelling people would like to know as much information as possible concerning the choice of the most acceptable means of travel, the way of booking tickets, the boarding & arrival formalities, the customs regulations, the reservation & checking in\out formalities at a hotel, the useful phrases when asking the way not to be lost & making a call to be understood, the most popular places to be entertained & what not.

TEXT B. MEANS OF TRAVEL.

Transport, conveyances or vehicles.

People can travel by air, by rail, by sea or by road. It means that people can use air-liners (planes), helicopters, trains, boat trains, any vessels (ships\liners, steamers, barges, hovercrafts, cargo-ships, sailing ships, ice-breakers, rowing boats & yachts or even canoes, kayaks, rafts & ferry-boats), cars & coaches, double decker buses, motorcycles, bicycles (cycles) or even lorries, mopeds, scooters, land-rovers, jeeps, sledges, carts & cableways.

Speed & comfort are the main advantages of trains & planes. That is why many people prefer them to all other means/ animal means of conveyance are also possible among travelers: horses & donkeys, deer & dogs, camels & elephants & even ostriches, or kangaroos. Ricksha(w)s are among the exotic means of conveyance.

TEXT C. Travelling by air.

Today travelling by air is a common thing. Many people like it because it is more comfortable, the most convenient, very much quicker than any other means, but it is the most expensive too. Most airlines have at least two classes of travel: first class and economy class, which is cheaper.

Here is some information on air travel that may be helpful:

1.Passengers are requested to arrive at the airport beforehand to complete the necessary airport formalities:

On INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS - two hours before the departure time

On DOMESTIC FLIGHTS - an hour before the departure time

2. Passengers must register their tickets and the luggage. When the luggage is registered, it is weighed and labelled.

3. The luggage mustn't be overweighed. Each passenger of more than two years of age has a free luggage allowance. Generally this limit is 20 kg for economy class passengers and 30 kg for first class passengers. Excess luggage must be paid for except for some articles that can be carried free of charge.

4. Each passenger is given a boarding pass to be shown at the departure gate and again to the stewardess when boarding the plane.

5. Watch the electric sign flashes when you are on board. When the "Fasten Seat Belts" sign goes on, do it promptly, and also obey the "No Smoking» signal.

6. Do not forget your personal effects when leaving the plane.

TEXT D. TRAVELLING BY TRAIN.

Travelling by train is slower than by plane, but it has its advantages. You can see much more interesting landscapes out of the train window when you are travelling overland.

Modern trains have very comfortable seats.

There are also sleeping cars which make even the longest journey enjoyable.

TEXT E. TRAVELLING BY WATER.

Travelling by sea is popular mostly for pleasure trips, voyages and cruises. For some people there is nothing so fine аз a voyage in a big ocean-going liner.

A relaxing way to see a countryside is by water. Some people like to travel on board a small riverboat, i.e. a pleasure boat for tourists and holidaymakers.

TEXT F. TRAVELLING BY CAR.

There are a lot of people who prefer travelling by car. They think it is very convenient because you needn't reserve your tickets, you needn't carry heavy suitcases, you can stop wherever you wish and spend at any place as much time as you like.

Motorists can rent a room or a furnished house for a couple of weeks or place themselves in a tent on the sea, river or lake shore enjoying fresh air and the sun all day long.

A hiker (mountaineer) can carry a heavy rucksack, climb a high mountain, live in a tent, cook him/herself, and be very tired but full energy and impressions.

Учебное пособие представляет собой наглядно и системно изложенный языковой материал темы «Путешествие за границу» в различных её аспектах и проявлениях: деловая поездка за границу, путешествие на каникулах, путешествие различными видами транспорта и т.д.

При написании пособия использованы основные критерии отбора лексического минимума, исследована лексика тематических ситуаций по данной теме и логически систематизирована, использованы ассоциативные связи.

Настоящее пособие предназначено для студентов, а также для широкого круга лиц, желающих получить необходимые первичные навыки языковой коммуникации с носителями языка в условиях пребывания за границей и системно изучающих язык в целях интенсивного накопления и активизации лексики.

Данное пособие имеет большую практическую ценность для преподавателей английского языка, позволяет обучать студентов, используя самые разнообразные методы учебной деятельности, в процессе которой тренируются их психические функции: память, восприятие, мышление, воображение.

Настоящее пособие является достаточно полным, системным и удобным в работе языковым материалом, составленным на основе аутентичной лексики.
