- flashcards, photo of the animals, grammar cards, handouts (sheets for the job).

Procedure of the lesson


  1. Organization moment.

  • Good afternoon, children! Sit down, please. I'm glad to see you today. I hope you will help me to make this lesson interesting! Now let's begin! For your right answers you will get these cards. Try to get more cards as you can!

  • Tell me please, what date is it today?

  • What day is it today?

  • What is the weather like today?

  1. Phonetic exercise.

-Now look at the blackboard. It is a poem. Let's read it:

Woof-woof, says the dog,

Mew, mew, says the cat,

Grunt, grunt, says the pig,

And squeak, squeak says the rat.

Too-woo, says the owl,

Moo, moo, says the cow,

Quack, quack, says the duck,

And what cuckoo says you know.


-So what is the topic of our lesson? The topic is «Animals».

1.-Now let's play a game. I will divide you into two groups. Let's come up with the group name.

G.1: "Tigers"

G.2: "Lions"

- So, what animals can you name? (students list the animals as a teacher at this time posts pictures on the board )

-The game "What's this?" (Control on memorization). (The teacher asks students to question and shows a picture of an animal, students should be able to - name an animal)

T:-What is this ?

P:-this is a dog.

T:-what is this?

P:-this is an elephant.

T:-What is this?

P:this is a monkey.

T:What is this?

P:this is a duck.

2.New lexis

- Children, on what basis we can divide these animals? (Teacher posts on the board the word "Animals" the concept of «domestic» and «wild».

-Let's distribute animals in «Domestic» and «Wild». I am giving you the cards, each group will work independently.

T:-What have you got?

P1:I have got a monkey. It's wild animal.

T:-What colour is it?

P1:It's brown and grey.

T:-What have you got?

P2:I have got a hen. It's domestic animal.

T:Is it big or small?

P2:It's small

T:-what have you got?

P3:I have got a cow.

T:Is it wild animal or domestic animal?

P3:It is domestic animal.

3. Warm-up. Let's sing a song.

4.Our second game is "Crossword"

- I will give you out the papers with lots of letters. You should find the names of the animals in danger. (8 animals) cat,crocodile,cow,dog,lion,elephant,puppy,monkey
