Lesson Plan # 1

Theme: Hello.

Aims: 1) to teach the children how to listen to the CD

2) to teach hello, hi, Good morning.

3) to teach the words - a boy, a girl, a teacher.

Equipment of the lesson: CDs and player, the book, pictures, blackboard.

Lesson Procedure:

  1. Warming up

- to introduce the children with the language? The countries where people speak English, ask them where they could hear it? How can they use it in their daily life.

- to introduce yourself (Hello, My name is…., What is your name?)

- start the lesson using Hello. Encourage the children to say Hello to you and to the other children.

II. Working with the book

p.4 Ex.1

-Allow time for the children to look through the book. Ask them to find their favourite pictures. Ask them if they know any English words already. Allow children time to look at the picture. Introduce the children to the main characters. Then in Mother Tongue (Russian or Kazakh) ask the children to find Anna in the picture. Say the name Anar. Children repeat. Do the same with the vocabulary - Alibek, Olga, Misha.

III. Auding

- In mother tongue (MT) ask the children to listen to the teacher. Then say listen and repeat listen. Then say Listen and repeat twice. Play the recording again.

-Open the book at the P.4 Ex.1 and ask the children to look at the pictures and listen to the track. Sing the song - track 2. Now look at the P.5 Ex.3 - listen to the track and repeat the words - hi, a teacher, a girl, a boy, hello, I am a boy, I am a girl.

- In MT ask the children to listen and say. Then say Listen and repeat twice in order to remember the instructions. To give them confidence, children speak with the teacher.

IV. Working in pairs/Pairwork

- In MT, explain that the children take it in turns, to say Hello,…(+ name) to each other. Go around and help. You could ask some pairs to act out a dialogue in front of the class.

V. Working with the Activity Book.

- Introduce the children with the Activity Book. Repeat the words a boy, a girl, a teacher, say in MT. ask the children to make Ex.1 p.4 (Activity Book)

-show the cards with the pictures of a boy, a girl and a teacher, Say these words and the pupils have to repeat after you. First of all, you say-pupils repeat.

Feedback: In MT ask the children the following questions

  1. Did you like the lesson today?

  2. What did you know from the lesson?
