I'd like to mention that each age has its beauty and charm, its positive sides. But unfortunately, a medal has two sides. So we'll have to speak about good and bad sides of being young too. In another words we are going to speak about ups and downs of the age.

What can you say about your generation?
We are a generation of very rapid and complicated life with technological, scientific and social changes. Too many new things and information is appearing every day. We must know everything: about cultural, political, economical and scientific events. It' not easy for an adult person because demands a lot of time and efforts. For teens it's much more difficult because they want everything and at the moment. They want to enjoy life, be independent, earn money… .
Young generation I see has a lot of ambitions.
Can you continue the list of teens' life ambitions?

1. Dear psychologists,
My name is Martin. I'm 16. I've got many problems at college. In fact, I hate college . I hate doing homework. I don't feel comfortable with my collegemates. They call me names (дают прозвища) because I'm too tall and pale.
What should I do? Please, give me advice.
2. Dear psychologists,
My name's Susan. I'm 17. My parents don't understand me. They think, my favorite music is too loud, my clothes are very strange, my make-up is too bright. No one listens to me! They only grumble (ворчат). I'm fed up with it! (сыт по горло).
What can you advise me?

1. Teenagers' Interests
2. Do Teenagers Have Problems?
3. Typical American Teenagers.
4. Are Teenagers a Problem?
5. What is a Teenager?
A. Officially, a teenager is anyone aged from 13 to 19 inclusively, but most people would probably think first of the younger age group and exclude 18 and 19-year-olds. After all, once you reach 18 you can vote, get married without your parents' permission, and join the army
B. According to 'the older generation', teenagers are lazy, they wear ridiculous clothes, and are appallingly rude to their betters and elders
C. Teenagers are human so, of course, they have problems. It is a difficult time for them because it is a period of transformation. It isn't quite as bad as a chrysalis changing into a butterfly, but it may seem like that
D. Typical American teenagers think their teachers make them work too hard; they love their parents, but are sure they don't understand anything; and their friendships are the most important things in their lives. Some of them do have a lot of money to spend, but usually they have earned it themselves.
