Тема: Things our grandchildren may never see.

  1. Организационный момент. Приветствие. Знакомство с темой.

Good morning, boys and girls. I am glad to see you today. The theme of today's lesson is "Things our children may never see". The problem of our lesson is the global situation in ecology and what we do with it.

The famous English writer John Galsworthy said: "If you don`t think about the future you will not have it."

  1. Lead in.

Listen to the poem. What is it about? (звуковая дорожка со стихотворением, задача детей прослушать и ответить на вопрос)

Only when all the rivers have run dry

And all the fish in the sea have died

Only when all the rainforests have been burnt down

And there is no food for the animals

Only when all the blue skies have been filled with smoke

And the cities of the world have choked

Will the white man understand

That it's too late to save the Earth.

(Native American poem)

  1. 1) Choose three pictures which best match the poem. (студенты смотрят на фото, и выбирают три фото, которые лучше всего подходят к стихотворению)



2) Now look at the list of problems and match them with the picture. (задача детей соединить список проблем с фотографиями).

List: water pollution, litter, destruction of the rainforest, air pollution, drought.



3) What do you think has caused these problems?

Hannah and Dan are expecting their first baby. They're looking at the photos in the newspapers. Listen to their conversation. Answer the Questions.

  1. May, might, and could all express a future possibility.

2. May can be more formal.

3. Could suggests something less definite.

I could be a champion if I trained hard.

The house is nice, but it could be beautiful.



  1. Now students, we are ready to work in groups. Ask questions about the future with Do you think….will…? Answer with may, might, could, or will.
