Фрагмент урока английского языка в 5-м классе "Открывая достопримечательности Лондона"

Цели урока:

образовательная: первичное знакомство и закрепление основных названий достопримечательностей Лондона, активизация лексических навыков по данной теме;

развивающая: развитие умения аудирования с целью извлечения конкретной информации, понимания основного содержания фильма, развитие навыков чтения;

воспитательная: воспитание уважения, понимания и толерантности к культуре страны изучаемого языка; приобретение опыта и чувства ответственности при работе в парах и группах;

Оборудование урока: УМК 5 класс Биболетова М.З., мультимедиапроектор и экран, фильм "Window on Britain.London", дидактический раздаточный материал.

Ход урока

1. Организация начала урока.

Good morning, boys and girls! Glad to meet you. How are you today? Today we'll speak about sights of London.

2. Первичная отработка лексики по теме.

Before watching the film let`s read the new words (слайд) on the screen board. (слушание и повторение за учителем, проходит работа по цепочке, первичная отработка ЛЕ).

3. Развитие умения аудирования с извлечением конкретной информации из просмотренного фильма.

Now, it is time to watch a film. The film is about Britain, especially London. After watching you will name the main places of interest in London and do the task on the screen. (Учащимся предлагается ознакомиться с заданием на экране, такие же карточки раздаются каждому ученику. Задание: заполните пропуски после просмотра фильма. Фильм "Window on Britain" очень интересный, красочный с хорошим английским языком, понятным для пятиклассников)

4. Учащиеся работают в парах, составляют словосочетания, услышанные по фильму. Они могут пользоваться предыдущим слайдом со словами. Затем проходит отработка произношения названий достопримечательностей.

5. Совершенствование навыков чтения: The students are divided into groups. Each group is given a text about London. The students read it in turn. Then answer questions on the screen board.

London is the capital of Great Britain. It is the largest city in Britain and one of the largest cities in the world. It is a very old city. It is two thousand years old.. London is a big port. It is situated on the river Thames. There are 3 parts in London: the City, the West and the East End.

The City is the heart of the business and financial life of the country. About half a million people work in the City. There are many offices, firms and banks in this part of London.

The West End is the centre of London. There are many sights there. Here are the historical palaces and the famous parks such as Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, St. James's Park. London residence of the Queen is Buckingham Palace. It was built in the 18^th century.

There are many nice squares in London. Trafalgar Square is one of them. It is in the centre of the West End. One can see a statue of Lord Nelson in the middle of it.

There are many museums, libraries and galleries in London. The British Museum is a very interesting place in London. It was founded in 1753. The library of this museum has a lot of books.

The West End is the part of London, where rich people live. It is the area of the largest department stores, cinemas and hotels.

The East End is the district for poor people and workers. There are many factories, workshops, docks there.

One can say that the City is the money of London, The West End is the goods of London, The East End is the hands of London.

The students tell what new information they have learned about London. (Работа по тексту, слайд)
