Цели урока:

Образовательные:

1. Повторить изученные лексико-грамматические структуры по теме «Виды магазинов»

2. Познакомить с новыми лексическими единицами.

3. Тренировать грамматические структуры there is & there are, предлоги места.

4. Расширить и углубить знания учащихся по теме.

Развивающие:

1. Совершенствовать коммуникативные навыки учащихся.

2. Работать над правильным произношением английских слов.

3. Совершенствовать умения и навыки практического владения английским языком по данной теме по всем видам речевой деятельности: аудирование, говорение и чтение.

Воспитательные:

1. Воспитывать любовь к месту, где ты живешь.

2. Повышать интерес к изучению английского языка.

Задачи:

1. Ознакомиться с лексикой и вспомнить грамматические структуры по теме.

2. Развивать навыки и умения аудирования с выборочным пониманием заданной информации.

3. Развивать умения и навыки ознакомительного и поискового чтения.

4. Учить высказываться, опираясь на иллюстрированный материал.

5. Развивать возможности учеников в диалогической речи.

6. Учить активности в решении коммуникативных задач.

План урока:

1. Приветствие. Определение темы урока, постановка цели и задач урока.

2. Показ презентации. Фонетическая разминка.

3. Ввод и работа с новой лексикой.

4. Аудирование.

5. Физкультминутка.

6. Чтение.

7. Диалогическая работа по карточкам.

8. Рефлексия.

9. Домашнее задание.

Ход урока.

1. Teacher-Good morning. I'm glad to see you. Sit down, please. Look at the pictures and guess what our lesson is about.

Pupils- Shops, different places in the city.

Teacher- Right you are. We'll talk about our neighbourhood. It means the places around the house we live in. Let's pronounce this word altogether…. Can you describe your neighbourhood?... We'll learn to do it in the lesson.

2. Teacher- Let's look at the screen and revise the words. Say the sounds correctly. Repeat, please.

Pupils- Chemist's, toy shop, baker's, greengrocer's, supermarket, sports shop, newsagent's, post office.

Teacher- Now tell me where you can buy these things.

Pupils choose the right variant.

Teacher- Well done.

3. Teacher- Let's read and guess the words we'll need in our lesson.

Pupils- neighbourhood, bank, cafe, coffee shop, opposite, next to, behind, in front of

4. Teacher- Well, it's time to open your books. Page 20 exercise 2. Look at the map. What can you see?... Listen to the conversation and label the places in the map. You will listen to the CD twice. Work in pairs.

(After the work is done) Let's check.

Pupils- 1 Newsagent's; 2 Bus station; 3 Supermarket; 4 Library; 5 Post office; 6 Coffee shop

Teacher-Now say where each shop is. Pupils- The newsagent's is opposite the bank. The bank is next to the post office. The coffee shop is in front of the chemist's. Etc.

5. Teacher- Shall we play "That's me" game? I'll read the sentences. If the sentence is about you, stand up and say "that's me". If it's not, don't stand up. Here we go.

I like to go to the café.

I never go to the bank.

There's a newsagent's opposite my house.

There are lot's of shops around my house.

I sometimes go to the chemist's.

I buy vegetables at the greengrocer's.

I like my neighbourhood.

I go to the baker's to buy bread.

6. Teacher- Let's read about Tony's neighbourhood. Go to exercise 3. Think of six words you expect to read….Now listen and read. Then name the places around Tony's house.

Pupils- shops, cafes, a post office, bank, newsagent's, supermarket, bus station, chemist's, library, coffee shop.

7. Teacher- Here are the cards with the maps of your neighbourhood and some phrases you'll need. (The cards are printed from the Workbook, Pairwork activities.) Work in pairs. Ask your partner about his or her neighbourhood and answer his or her questions.

Pupil1- What is there?

Pupil2- There's a library, a bank, a post office etc.

Pupil 1- Where is the library?

Pupil2- It's opposite the bank next to the post office.

Pupil1- Is there a baker's?

Pupil2- No, there isn't.

Teacher- Present your dialogues to the class. Other pupils get ready to say " Very well." "Ok" or "Not very well".

8. Teacher- Good job. Did you like the lesson? What was interesting/boring/difficult/easy for you? What did you learn? …

9. Your home task will be exercise 4 at page 20. You have to draw a street map of your neighbourhood, label the buildings and write a short paragraph describing it. Use ex.3 as a model.
