Тема: What films do you like best? (Какие фильмы Вам нравятся больше всего?)

Класс: 11

Цель: Совершенствовать речевые навыки учащихся.

Задачи: 1. Активизировать лексический материал по теме «Различные виды фильмов»; грамматический материал (наречия меры и степени с прилагательными).

2. Развивать умения и навыки чтения и слушания с целью извлечения конкретной информации и общего понимания содержания.

3. Развивать логическое мышление, воображение, речь, внимание; умение логично и аргументировано излагать свои мысли.

4. Воспитывать интерес к жизни людей в странах изучаемого языка; способствовать развитию умения работать в группе.

I. Introduction.

The objectives of the lesson.

• Good day, students. I'm glad to see you. Today we'll speak about different genres of the films.

II. Phonetic activities.

There are two lines of the words. Read them in transcription, pay attention to the pronunciation, and then find unnecessary word in each line.

A director, a producer, a corporation, a star, an electrician, an actor.

Silent, black'n'white, colour, short, full-length, sound, western.

III. Warming-up activities.

• Answer some of my questions.

  1. When did the first studio appear in Hollywood?

  2. When did sound films appear in Hollywood?

  3. What was the first colour film?

  4. What big film companies do you know?

IV. Lexical activities.

• Today we'll speak about genres of the films. What films genres do you know? Let's mention all genres.

• Now let's watch a film and answer some questions.(обучающиеся смотрят фильм «Прибытие поезда» братьев Люмирье)

• Answer the questions:

1. What is the title of the film?

2. Who are the authors of the film?

5. What is the genre of the film?

6. And what about you?

7. What would you like to write about the film?

V. Listening activities. (ex. 2.1), p.188)

- There are some films to discuss. Listen to some dialogs and answer the question "What types of films do these people talk about?"

VI. Grammar activities.

- In order to express one's impressions about the films or something else, you can use adjective modifiers. (Grammar in focus, p. 189)

- Now, look through the dialogs one more time and find adjective modifiers, which help to express one's impressions about the films.

- Now I suggest you to form three groups. Each group gets a task to express your opinion about a film in your task-card, and describe its specialties, using Internet resources.

- You should use a table from the Students' book at page 191, ex. 6. You are also to use the following phrases in order to make up your own opinion.
