Разработка урока английского языка в 8 классе по теме «История Олимпийских игр».

На данном уроке учащиеся знакомятся с важной ролью спорта, необходимостью вести здоровый образ жизни, с историей олимпийских игр. Учащиеся рассказывают историю олимпийских игр, идёт показ презентации и затем проводится небольшая викторина между двумя командами.

Тип урока: развивающий.

Форма урока: урок-лекция с использованием ИКТ.

Цели: 1) углубление и расширение знаний по теме «Спорт»; 2)повышение мотивации учащихся к изучению английского языка; 3)воспитание уважения к людям своей страны и других стран.

Задачи: 1) образовательные: формирование навыков говорения и аудирования; развитие умения понимать с целью извлечения детальной информации.

2) воспитательные: воспитание потребности и способности понимать образ жизни и культуру других народов, более глубокое осознание своей культуры.

3) развивающие: развитие мышления, воображения, способности к распределению и переключению внимания, к сравнению и сопоставлению.

4) учебные: формирование лексических навыков говорения; совершенствование грамматических навыков и навыков аудирования.

Оборудование: компьютер, проектор, экран, компьютерная презентация, выполненная в программе «Power Point», листы с надписями «Summer», «Winter».

Речевой материал: а) рецептивный: athletes, to compete, AD, BC, ancient, the torch, purity, an Athlete's Oath, the motto.

б) продуктивный: грамматический- неличные формы глагола, различные способы словообразования; лексический- the anthem, participants, evident, representatives, to recognize.

Общие рекомендации: несколько учащихся заранее готовятся к уроку: знакомятся с историей Олимпийских игр; показ презентации сопровождает знакомство учащихся с олимпийским движением ; завершает урок блицигра- викторина.

Ход урока.

1.Организационный момент. (Приветствие, сообщение о теме и характере работы на данном уроке.)

Teacher: Dear friends! Today we are going to speak about the history of the Olympic Games. The Olympic Games play a very important role in the life of the country. Every country wants to be the best in this great sport event. From ancient times people tried to be strong, brave and, of course, healthy.

2. Информация об Олимпийских Играх (с показом презентации). (Приложение 1)

Pupil 1. History.

The ancient Greeks first had the idea of getting men together every four years to hold sporting events(in those days women did not participate). The idea was to have the best athletes from all over Greece gather in one field and compete every four years. All wars and fighting had to stop while the athletes competed. The first Games were in 776 BC. They lasted until 389 AD.

The idea of having the modern Games was suggested in the mid 19^th century, but they weren't a world event until 1896. Now they have been held since then every four years in different cities around the world.

Pupil 2. Symbols.

The Olympic Games have many important symbols that most people are recognized. The five rings that appear on the Olympic flag (coloured yellow, green, blue, black and red) were introduced in 1914. They represent the five continents of Africa, the Americas, Australia, Asia and Europe. The flag is raised in the host city and then flown to the next one where it is kept until the next Games. The Olympic torch, a major part of the ancient Games, was brought back in 1928. The torch symbolizes purity, the drive for perfection and the struggle for the victory.

Pupil 3. Music.

The Olympic anthem is simply named " Olympic Music" by John Williams, who wrote it for the 1984 Olympics, held in Los Angeles. The torch, fanfare and flag are clearly evident in the Opening Ceremony, when everyone formally welcomes the participants and the Games can begin. Here we find the dramatic and colourful March of Nations, in which all the athletes from each country go into the venue to the sound of their country's anthem and march behind their flags, thus becoming representatives of their countries.

Pupil 4. Athlete's Oath.

There is an Athlete's Oath to keep the spirit of the Games and sportsmanship: "In the name of all competitors, I promise that we shall take part in these Olympic Games, respecting and abiding by the rules which given them, in the true spirit of sportsmanship, for the glory of sport, and the honour of our teams."

Pupil 5. Medals.

In the ancient Games, only the winner was celebrated. Each winner was given a simple crown of the olive leaves to wear on his head. This was the only reward for his victory. Those who came the second or the third got nothing. By the way, when the Games started again in 1896, silver medals were given to the first place winners. Later in 1904 in the St. Louis Games, gold was the top prize. Now, of course, we have gold for the first place, silver for the second and bronze for the third.

Pupil 6. Motto.

The Olympics' official motto is " Citius, Altius, Fortius". This is Latin for "Swifter, Higher, Stronger". This is said to represent the Olympic spirit and a celebration of brotherhood, competition, sportsmanship, goodwill and peace.

Pupil 7. People.

As in ancient times, those who participate in the Games are famous for the rest of their lives. Today, it's estimated that some 100,000 people have competed in the Games. People of different nationalities from the world take part in the Olympic Games. They are, for example: British, Finnish, Irish, Polish, Spanish, Turkish, Burmese, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Taiwanese, Vietnamese, Bahraini, Iraqi, Israeli, Kuwaiti, Pakistani, Saudi, Russian, American, Australian, Canadian, German, Indonesian, Korean, Czech, Dutch, French, Filipino, Greek, Icelandic, Swiss, Thai, Malagasy.

3. Блицигра.

Teacher: Now, children, let's have some competition.

Учащиеся делятся на две команды. Им предстоит выполнить 3 задания по теме «Спорт».

Конкурс 1. Виды спорта.

Учащимся даны карточки с названиями зимних и летних видов спорта, которые нужно наклеить на заранее приготовленные листы с надписями: Summer, Winter.

Конкурс 2. Найди определение.

Команды получают карточку со словами, затем, слушая учителя, ставят номер, под которым идёт слово.

4. Подведение итогов .
