До проведения мероприятия учащиеся получили задания найти информацию об основных традициях Рождества , изготовить рождественские газеты.

Цели мероприятия:

- обобщение имеющихся у учащихся знаний по теме « Рождественские традиции и обычаи»;

- развитие навыков устной речи;

- развитие мышления , внимания, познавательного интереса;

- привитие любви к изучаемому языку.

Оборудование:

ТСО, костюм Санта Клауса, открытки, картинки, плакат с буквами,

карточки со словами, плакат с изображением елки и птицы, костюмы зимы, волка, козлят.

W: Good afternoon, dear boys and girls! I am the coldest season of the year. When I come all the rivers and lakes are frozen. Snowflakes dance in the air. The ground, the trees and the houses are covered with deep snow. You will never see such a wonderful picture in any other season. I'm glad to meet you at our Christmas party. Let's start it with a beautiful song about Christmas.

Round our Christmas tree we dance and sing,

Hand in hand we make a ring,

Singing and dancing as round we go.

T: Listen to the short stories and try to answer the questions then. The 25-th of December is Christmas Day. It's a happy holiday for many people . In Great Britain people have many interesting Christmas traditions. Listen to the short stories about tree and presents and other Christmas traditions (picture).

P: People began to celebrate Christmas many-many years ago. They had a green tree. There were many Christmas balls on it . They gave presents to each other( picture).

P2: In the evening of the 24-th of December children hang their Christmas stockings. Santa Claus puts presents into them (picture).

P3: Christmas pudding was first made many years ago. People often put holly on it .Also they put coins into the pudding. It brings good luck(picture).

P4: Holly is an evergreen plant with sharp leaves and red berries . People put holly on Christmas pudding . They also use it to decorate their homes(picture).

P5: A roast turkey is a traditional Christmas meal. Also people like to eat mince pies(picture).

P6: Every English family sends and receives many Christmas cards . You can read on the card " Merry Christmas"(picture).

T: On the 25-th of December in Trafalgar Square there is a Christmas tree , which is over fifty feet high . It's a present from people of Oslo.

W: Who is the main hero of the day? Where is he? I don't see him . Let's call them all together. ( входит Санта Клаус)
