Тип урока: обобщающий с элементами введения нового материала.

Задачи

Обучающие:

  • Организовать повторение лексического и страноведческого материала по данной теме.

  • Учить учащихся правильно строить предложения на английском языке по теме, организовать практику устной речи на английском языке.

  • Познакомить учащихся с некоторыми традициями и обычаями празднования Рождества в Великобритании.

  • Способствовать формированию у учащихся навыков социолингвистической и лингвострановедческой компетенций.

Развивающие:

  • Развивать творческую фантазию, познавательный интерес, инициативу в осуществлении иноязычной речевой деятельности.

  • Развивать межпредметную связь с музыкой, изобразительным искусством.

Воспитательные:

  • Воспитывать у учащихся чувство прекрасного и уважение к культуре и традициям других народов.

  • Воспитывать чувство взаимной ответственности, прививать навыки работы в коллективе.



Оборудование: проектор, экран, компьютер, раздаточный материал.


1. Организационный этап. Приветствие.

Teacher: Good morning, dear boys and girls. Glad to see you again! We start our lesson, which is connected with a beautiful holiday, the most popular holiday in Great Britain. This holiday is the favourite holiday of all English children and grown-up persons. We will speak and read about this holiday, have a competition, write cards, and sing a song. I hope you'll enjoy our English lesson and be friendly to each other. I wish you good luck! Let's start!

The 25th of December is Christmas Day. It's a happy holiday for many people in different countries.

Some weeks before Christmas English people are busy. They send greeting cards to all their relatives and friends. You can buy Christmas cards or you can make them. Many children make their cards at school.

People buy a Christmas tree and decorate it with toys, coloured balls and little coloured lights. When children go to bed, they put their stockings near their beds. On Christmas Eve people put their presents under the tree.

Every year there is a very big Christmas tree in the centre of London, in Trafalgar Square. This is a present from the people of Norway to the people of Great Britain. They send it to Londoners every year and Londoners decorate the Christmas tree.

In the evening before Christmas people like to come to Trafalgar Square to look at the tree. On Christmas Eve the streets in London are decorated, too. On Christmas people wish their nearest and dearest a merry Christmas.

The day after Christmas is Boxing Day. People usually visit their relatives and friends. They do not work on that day.

For Christmas lunch people eat turkey, potatoes and green vegetables. Then they have the Christmas pudding. At five o'clock it's time for tea and Christmas cake.
