Objectives:

1. to enlarge pupil's knowledge on theme: Second Conditional, to know more about Great Fire of London.

2. to develop pupil's abilities in speaking, reading and writing.

3. to increase their interests to the subject, to develop their creative thinking.

Idea: to use Second Conditional in oral and writing speech.

Methods: practical, illustrative, the method of individual activity, creative thinking activity.

The forms of the work: frontal, individual, in groups, in pairs.

Visual aids: cards, schemes, video, interactive board, (pink, green and yellow cards for differentiation work).

1. Warm up:

"Say something pleasant to each other"

2. Organization moment:

Good morning! Who is on duty today? What date is it? Who is absent?

3. The aim of the lesson:

Today we'll enlarge our knowledge about Second Conditional and use it in oral and writing speech.

4. Practice:

1) Draw an association map:

Ask questions about Second Conditional….

-Are there any differences or similarity in Russian or in Kazakh languages? Compare them.

2) Auding the text:

Teacher reads the text, using language laboratory.

Explain the task: "True/False statements"

(use each other checking)

Leaders of the groups point the marks into the evaluation cards.

3) Watching the video: "Great Fire of London"

Questions: 1. How many new words have you remembered from the video?

2. What was more impressive for you, when you were watching the video?

5) Some more interesting facts about "Great Fire of London" (Приложение 4.1)

4) Physical training exercises: "Hands up, please!"

5) Discussion moment: (work in groups)

"If I were ….."

1 group: "If I were a millionaire …"

2 group: "If I were my Mother (Father) ..."

3 group: "If I were a Minister of Education …"

6) Individual and pairs work:

"Pink cards" - make up a dialogue, using Second Conditional.

"Green card" - do Ex.11 p. 70 in the textbook.

"Yellow cards" - complete the sentences, using Second Conditional.

Teacher checks up the dialogues, true sentences and cards of the pupils and leaders of the groups point the marks into the evaluation cards.

6. Home-work:

Pupils take their hands and say compliments, wishes or some warm words.

Pupils on duty answer the teacher's questions.

Pupils come to the board and draw an association map about Second Conditional.

They compare the grammar rules in Russian, Kazakh and in English.

Pupils introduce with new words, listen to the text and try to understand it.

Pupils write true or false, change the copy-books and check the answers, using keys and evaluate each other, using criteria of marks.

Pupils watch the video and answer theteacher's questions.

Then do the tasks:

• Pupils with pink cards - using the pictures from the slide, make up the sentences about "Great Fire of London", using Second Conditional.

• Other pupils - do the cards - translate the words from the video.

Pupils read the facts and translate them.

Pupils have a minute of rest.

Every group thinks a little and says a sentence, using Second Conditional.

Pupils with pink cards make up the dialogue, using the questions on the board.(Приложение 5)

Pupils with green cards do exercise in the textbook, make up true sentences in the Second Conditional.(Приложение 5.1)

Pupils with yellow cards complete the sentences in the individual cards.(Приложение 5.2)

Pupils try to use Second Conditional in oral and writing speech.

Leaders of the groups say the marks of their pupils.

Pupils write their opinion about the lesson in three sentences.

"Like, Interesting fact, dislike".

2. Draw a map or a scheme (green and yellow cards).
