Тема "Bookworms"
Цель урока: познакомить учащихся с творчеством зарубежных писателей.
Задачи урока:
- обучающие - активизация лексических единиц, изучение новых речевых оборотов и разговорных клише, совершенствование грамматических навыков учащихся.;
- развивающие - развитие творческих способностей учащихся, расширение кругозора, развитие навыков аудирования, устной речи и чтения;
- воспитательные - формировать культуру чтения, интерес и любовь учащихся к зарубежной классической литературе.
Оборудование: мультимедийный проектор, аудиомагнитофон, карты памяти, карточки.
План урока
1.The beginning of the lesson.
Hello, boys and girls! I'm glad to see you today. I hope you are ready to work hard at our lesson, aren't you? So let's start our lesson. The topic of our lesson is "Bookworms". We'll learn much interesting at our lesson and see the presentations of your stories.
2.Phonetic practice.
Let's see if you know different kinds of genres. Choose the card and say what kind of genre it is. (слайды 1,2)
3.Speaking.
Children, answer some questions.
-Do you like to read books?
-Is reading important? Why do you think so?
-How often do you read books?
-Do you like to read stories in English?
-Who is your favourite writer?
-What books by this author have you read this year?
4.Listening.
Listen to the text about the first English printer William Caxton. (Текст записан на диске CD-R)
William Caxton is the first English printer. He was born in Kent in 1422. His father was a farmer. William did not want to be a farmer. So his father sent him to London. He worked in an office which traded with different countries. William liked to read books which were printed in Europe.
When William was thirty he started his own business in Belgium. In 1471 he left his business and began to translate French books into English. He became interested in printing and at last he learnt it. William wanted to have his own press one day and he did.
In 1476 he brought his printing-press to London. Printing was something new at that time and most people thought that it was the work of the devil. Some of the people wanted to break the press. Caxton printed his first book in 1477. It was the first book printed in the English language. The book was Caxton's translation of the French "Tales of Troy".
William Caxton printed about 80 books. He translated thirty-one books from French. Caxton died in 1491.
