- Whale's color is blue because of their bluish-gray color. They can be as big as a full grown whale when they are born and weigh over 5 tones. A baby calf drinks his mother's milk for the first six month. Whales are mammals. Though blue whales are water creatures they are warm - blooded, can breath, nurse their babies.
