This lesson was made for students of the 8th form
They work with the student book English VIII O.V. Afanasyeva, I.V.Mikheeva.
Students have English four times a week. They are interested in studying English. Students take part in different competitions on it. The age of them is 14-15 years.
I've planned this lesson for developing skills of reading. The text students will work with is called"Mr.Smith's new nose". Materials for this lesson were taken from the web-site .
Aims: by the end of the lesson students should be able to understand the main idea of the text"Mr. Smith's new nose";
by the end of the lesson students should be able to remember the meaning of some new words met in the text;
by the end of the lesson students should be able to express their own attitude to the text they read.
Equipments: laptops, an interactive white board, cards with right variants, a sheet of paper where students will estimate each student's answers.
Students will work in groups on this lesson. Each group had made beforehand. They should work in group attentively as at the end of this lesson each member of this or that group will be estimated by the head of it.
The time for this lesson is 60 minutes.

When you are doing this activity, try to guess how the words are used in the story
(Before making this exercise the teacher gives instructions to students how to make it)
Checking: After making this task students of each group should write their variants in their answer sheet and then compare them with right variants which are written on the interactive white board

Look at your laptops and make exercise 2 complete this vocabulary activity before you listen to or read the story.
Checking: The representative of each group should go to the blackboard and write down their variant, after it the teacher opens the right one and every group can see how well they made this exercise.

The conclusion. The teacher and students make the conclusion of this lesson according to the aims were put at the beginning of it.
At home students should make the language task do you think that idioms are a pain in the neck? Try to complete this activity on idioms that use parts of the body.
