Theme: "Types of tourism"

Educational aims: to develop mental abilities (to be able to analyze, compare, contrast, memory, imagination, will power).
Practical aims:
(Objectives)

  1. to get acquainted with new vocabulary

  2. to practice the vocabulary

  3. to develop skills in reading and speaking

  4. to practice the grammar item


Cultural aims: 1. to extend pupil's knowledge of the world in which they live

2. to get acquainted with the life, customs and traditions of the target language speakers.


Language and linguistic materials: Passive Voice, new vocabulary.


The type of the lesson:
mixed


The kind of the lesson: learner-centered lesson


Methods: explaining, question-answer, brainstorming, comparing, giving information, acting out and vocabulary


Equipment:

a) teaching aids: blackboard, the computer, the interactive board, tape recorder

b) teaching materials:

the students' book "Almaty Kitap", the teacher's book, dictionaries, manuals, selected readings, visual materials (objects, realia, flashcards, sentence cards, wall-charts, posters, pictures, photographs, albums, maps, plans, slides, filmstrips)cards with exercises, audio-visual materials (sound film loops, films, movies), audio materials (typescripts, CD with typescripts, records, cassettes)
Literature: the students' book "Almaty Kitap", the teacher's book, dictionaries, manuals, selected readings.

Greeting, talking to the students on duty on date, date absentees, announcing the objectives of the lesson.

The procedure of the lesson:

  1. Warm-up:

1) Objectives:
1. to practice skills in speaking
2. to practice the vocabulary

2) Teaching aids and materials: the statement of St Augustine
"The world is a book, and who do not travel, read only a page."

3) Equipment: interactive board.

4) Steps: 5) Regimes:
1. The T presents the statement on the interactive board. T --- Cl
The Ss listen it.
2. The T reads the statement again. T --- Cl
3. The Ss show their understanding of the statement. T --- Cl
4. The Ss read the statement with the T in unison. T --- Cl
5. The T asks first bright, then average, last slow Ss. T --- S1, S2, S3 …

6) Assessment (Evaluation): verbal.

II. Checking of Homework.
1) Objectives:
1. to practice speaking skills.
2) Teaching aids and materials: Student's book, copy-books.

3) Equipment: interactive board.
4) Steps: 5) Regimes:
1. The asks the Ss to read their essays about
trends and regulations in tourism. T --- Cl
2. The Ss read their essays one by one. S1, S2, S3 …

3. After reading their essays the Ss are to say
what words and word combinations have been used in their essays. S1, S2, S3 …
6) Assessment (Evaluation): verbal, marks.

Ш. Oral practice

1) Objectives:
1. to practice the vocabulary.
2. to develop skills in reading.
2) Teaching aids and materials: pp. 20-23, Ex-s 1,2,3,4.
3) Equipment: Students' book, Teacher's book, dictionaries,
manuals, selected readings, visual materials

4) Steps: 5) Regimes:

1. The T shows the questions on the interactive board. T --- Cl
The Ss read the questions.
2. The T asks the Ss to read the text on p.22 in chain. S1, S2, S3
3. The Ss answer the questions after reading the text. S1, S2, S3
4. Grammar revision: Passive Voice.
The T reminds the Ss the grammar item:
Passive Voice on the interactive board. T --- Cl
The Ss do ex 4, p.23.
The Ss write on the board and in copy - books. S1, S2, S3
6) Assessment (Evaluation): verbal.
